This morning, President Barack Obama will be addressing the nation in a speech about immigration reform. While I have a certain sense of deja vu (pretty sure he’s done this before), I’m happy to see our Commander in Chief pushing the issue back to the top of his priority list. Now, we must get Congress to do the same.

The speech will be broadcast live on the White House website and will feature an interactive live chat after the speech.

Via WhiteHouse.gov:

After the speech, we will also host a unique online engagement event – what we’re calling an “Open for Questions Roundtable” – with Cecilia Muñoz, one of the President’s closest advisors on the issue. Representatives from online media outlets examining several angles of the immigration issue will be there posing the questions on the minds of their readers – Forbes, which focuses on business and economic issues;  the Examiner.com network which has citizen reporters in every state including more than 50 border state communities; CNET which focuses on the tech community; and Univision.com, which has covered the immigration debate as closely as anybody for years.   And as we always do, we’ll be taking some of your questions live via Facebook as well.

Be sure to tune into the speech at 10:45 AM EST this morning and stick around for the live-chat. Let’s be sure to make our voices heard and remind the administration that we want action, not just words!

Please fix the issues for people who are leagally trying to immigrate before trying to fix the illegal immigrant issue. I’m an alien on temporary visa staying legally in this country for pask 13 yrs, during the time I was always legal, always employed and always paid my taxes but unable to immigrate due to the huge backlog in Employment based immigrant visas. According to USCIS estimates about 300,000 visas have been wasted over the years. President Clinton has passed legislation in past to recapture lost visas, I hope similar legislation could be taken up now to enable law abiding, tax paying, english speaking people like me to immigrate to this country.

They need to recognize the efforts being made by families/individuals to legalize themselves. There are millions of educated people who work hard, contribute to the economy and pay their taxes as well. This broken system needs to be fixed once and for all.

I am a young immigrant. But I am completely different from everyone. My story and life it’s completely different from most young immigrants my age. I am in need of a comprehensive immigration reform in order to continue with my dreams and goals. I am a young entrepreneur, I am all about business. I am not the first young entrepreneur, but i am probably one of the first youngest immigrants entrepreneur. I am in the I.T-Technology-Telecommunications industry. My company is called “Developers TCT” and a lot of projects and goals are coming but I need to be able to have access to all the same tools that every legal citizen has. I also started an organization called “The Cool Businessmen” (thecoolbusinessmen.com) which is focused in Business and entrepreneurial paths. People like myself, regardless of our ethnicity and status, we are empowering this country’s economy and business industry. We are promoting employment opportunities and I feel I deserved support from this country and the right to be treated equally and have the same type of resources and opportunities like any normal citizen. My family and I are investing our capital, efforts and hard work in this economy. Something that everyone needs to understand is that when it comes to intelligence, potential, wealth, power, skills, knowledge, success, desire, motivation, determination, and all the traits and characteristics that defined an individual are not up to the race or ethnicity, not up to the Age and most of all is not up to a ‘paper’ or ‘document’. . Please support and endorse the few of us that differentiate from the rest.
