Yesterday, as the announcement of the lawsuit being filed against Arizona to fight the state’s racial profiling law hit the mainstream media, 12 Arizona community leaders stood in front of the White House, holding vigil for justice. These leaders traveled across the country in less than two days, stopping only to pray with communities in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia. Their final destination was Washington, DC and they arrived to bring the stories of their community’s suffering straight to the people with the power to end that suffering: the Obama administration and Congress.

The 24-hour vigil that was started days before Governor Jan Brewer signed Arizona’s racial profiling law is starting its 80th day, and the leaders outside of the White House are continuing the vigil in our nation’s capital.

Join them at the vigil at 11:30am today in Lafayette Park, in front of the White House! DC area community, Arizona needs you! Take a stand against fear and hatred and stand with the AZ community and all immigrant and communities of color.

God Bless all of you fighting for justice. I admire your courage. If you all were in Texas, I would be there in a heartbeat :)
