Arizona has become a flash point in the fight for civil rights across the country and has catapulted the immigrant rights movement front-and-center in the mainstream media. With the announcement of the Obama administration’s lawsuit against the state’s immigration law, SB 1070, activism and orgazning in the “show me your papers” state has become more important than ever.
Promise Arizona, a newly launched organization that was sparked by the SB 1070 fight, is recruiting people who want to join Arizona’s “Summer of Hope” and fight for justice in our country.
Calling upon the legacy of a previous crisis of racial injustice in our nation – the Freedom Summer of the civil rights movement – the PAZ Fellows Program will create a volunteer structure and action plan that will enable out-of-state volunteers to join local organizing designed to register thousands of voters and create long-term change in Arizona.
Arizona needs you. The movement needs you. Take three weeks out of your life and make a lasting impact on history and justice for all in our country.

This is literally the manifestation of everything I’ve been independently trying to plan/organize over the last 3 months to get myself out to help. THANK YOU for this program. I’m filling out my application @ immediate! See you in September
Let’s all go to Arizona, this is excellent!
What a wonderful way to make a difference in the future of Arizona and the future of the nation! The way to solve Arizona’s problems is to send Governor Brewer and her cronies home! This sounds like a perfect chance to gain life experiences and make a difference in the lives of people! Tim Paynter
