Yesterday, in the State House Rotunda, Rhode Island community leaders came together to stand with the people of Arizona and denounce SB1070. A diverse coalition of workers rights advocates, community based organizations, immigrants rights groups, progressive allies, and community members of all backgrounds stood together to stop the spread of terror.
Arizona, over 2500 miles away the Ocean State is standing with you, inspired by your leadership and united by your struggle. Comité de Inmigrantes en Acción, Rhode Island Unemployed Council, Fuerza Laboral/Power of Workers, Save Our Schools, Olneyville Neighborhood Association and Ocean State Action stood up today and will be marching along with many more organizations and their members on Saturday to fight for justice for all workers, regardless of their country of origin, this May Day.
