Today, during a speech at the Center for American Progress, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano reiterated the administration’s commitment to achieving comprehensive immigration reform. A former border state governor who has a deep understanding of the complexity of immigration issues, Napolitano has been designated by the President as the administration’s point person on immigration reform.
Napolitano made the case that law enforcement, and specifically the Department of Homeland Security can not keep the country safe or do their jobs effectively without comprehensive immigration reform. “Law enforcement and government at every level are asking for reform. And at the Department of Homeland Security, we need reform to do our job of enforcing the law and keeping our country secure,” said Napolitano.
Secretary Napolitano indicated that she expects to see legislation in early 2010, and that the administration was committed to solving the problem. Continued Napolitano, “The President is committed to this issue because the need for immigration reform is so clear. This administration does not shy away from taking on the big challenges of the 21st century, challenges that have been ignored too long and hurt our families and businesses. When Congress is ready to act, we’ll be ready to support them.” Napolitano also indicated how much different reform will be this time. “I’ve been dealing hands on with immigration issues since 1993, so trust me: I know a major shift when I see one, and what I have seen makes reform far more attainable this time around” Napolitano noted that faith and law enforcement leaders are speaking out about the vital need for reform, as well as business and labor leaders.

You are out of your mind!!! My husband was laid off for over 15 months and now has a temporary job due to ILLEGAL ALIENS!! His former employer had to lay him off because he is bidding for jobs against other businesses who hire ILLEGALS! He keeps losing the bids, even though he bids low, because other companies have so many illegals waiting for our jobs and will take less money. GREED!! My son’s business is failing because of ILLEGAL ALIENS!! They are swarming into our country unabated because our traitor president has promised amnesty. This will make our country even more insecure as thousands of gang members already here will become citizens, every illegal now here (45 million plus, 10,000 a day)become citizens and sponsor their aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, cousins….to add another 100 MILLION people. With MILLIONS OF AMERICAN CITIZENS out of work it’s unthinkable to even consider amnesty. Our borders have remained open since the empty promises of pre-1986 amnesty, and pre-1994 amnesty. WE DON”T HAVE JOBS FOR AMERICAN CITIZENS!!! We are cold, hungry and angry that anyone in our government is considering adding more UNDESERVING citizens. Becoming an American citizen is the prize of the world. It should NOT be given to those who have broken our immigration laws. REWARDING LAWBREAKERS is NOT moral, ethical or logical. Sorry about the broken families. That is just a ploy for sympathy which we don’t have toward ILLEGAL ALIENS. The parents SHOULD NOT have come here initially. GO HOME ILLEGAL ALIENS and reunite with your families. Apply for citizenship LEGALLY and WAIT just like all the other LEGAL immigrants. You’ve taken my husband’s job once and will do it again as you swarm into my once great country, learn trades, live 36 to a house, pay no taxes, rob, rape, pillage, murder and turn our country into a pig stye. You have no values or morals if you uphold GIVING citizenship away just like that. If you think this will help America you’re wrong. Diluting the job market will only result in lower wages, lower standards of living, destruction of the American dream, and will give socialists like Obama just what they want: milions of low wage workers to support their elite, wasteful spending. Janet Napolitano is promoting the propaganda necessary to try and convince people that we need more citizens. She is one of the traitors who want the North American Union. Her arguements don’t hold water. There’s not one ounce of logic in them. As I have written, more citizens will only bring this country to a third world status, generating more crime and an exponentially less secure nation.
