Today, during a speech at the Center for American Progress, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano reiterated the administration’s commitment to achieving comprehensive immigration reform. A former border state governor who has a deep understanding of the complexity of immigration issues, Napolitano has been designated by the President as the administration’s point person on immigration reform.
Napolitano made the case that law enforcement, and specifically the Department of Homeland Security can not keep the country safe or do their jobs effectively without comprehensive immigration reform. “Law enforcement and government at every level are asking for reform. And at the Department of Homeland Security, we need reform to do our job of enforcing the law and keeping our country secure,” said Napolitano.
Secretary Napolitano indicated that she expects to see legislation in early 2010, and that the administration was committed to solving the problem. Continued Napolitano, “The President is committed to this issue because the need for immigration reform is so clear. This administration does not shy away from taking on the big challenges of the 21st century, challenges that have been ignored too long and hurt our families and businesses. When Congress is ready to act, we’ll be ready to support them.” Napolitano also indicated how much different reform will be this time. “I’ve been dealing hands on with immigration issues since 1993, so trust me: I know a major shift when I see one, and what I have seen makes reform far more attainable this time around” Napolitano noted that faith and law enforcement leaders are speaking out about the vital need for reform, as well as business and labor leaders.
Reform Immigration FOR America is ready to partner with Secretary Napolitano and the administration as they push for comprehensive immigration reform. Campaign Manager Rich Stolz said, “We are committed to achieving reform that treats immigrants humanely and fairly, enhances our national security, and puts the undocumented on a path to legal status and eventually citizenship. Secretary Napolitano made clear that the political and policy context for reform is decidedly better and different than it was the last time reform was attempted in 2007. Now it is up to the President, Congressional leaders, and us to make reform a reality. We are ready to get to work”

I’d like to participate in the immigration debate and I have a simple message for the American people, but I do not wish to be singled out for standing to the right of the less fortunate, they’re humans too.
The USA is a land of migrant, so are many other nations in the world today. The early settler were migrants, so are many of the new generation of Americans today. Migrants have contributed immensely to the making of America Today. Legal or otherwise, they came here, work hard and many paid their taxes.
The recent campiagm against the illegal is an overdue act of neglect and all the blames were put on those who enter illegally. For those who came here illegally, the majority came in for economic reason and most of them took up decent employment contributing to the economic prosperity of the nation. However, the anti-illegal campiagm do not see it this way. They have embark on a campaign of xeno-phobia. An ugly race barrier that they surreptitiously put up has become a Great Wall of America.
The fault is not the illegals alone. When the US has thousands of miles of border unguarded and unprotected, who would not cross. Even the deers and ants would. And once they have come in, do you brand them as illegal? Why dont you seal up the border? Any nation without border is not a sovereign. America’s border is in a mess. Not till America seal her border will the influx cease.
I am not defending the illegals and I do not want to be seen as such. While they are here illegally, they also contributed to the economy. With more people in the population, the demands for good and services also increase thus contributing to the prospering economy. With the recent crackdowns on the illegals, more houses went into foreclosures, less consumer spending and things like these have taken its toil on the US economy. While experts may denied these facts they cannot explain how the economy has suddenly fallen. One clear reason is action against illegals—rock the boat; rock the American Pie.
Finally, many amongst those who shouted for the deportation of the illegals are church goers. I wonder how they pray every day and night and how they slept too. If they cannot forgive their illegal neighbors how could they even ask their God to “forgive us our trespasses.” No wonder God dont bless America now, in this economic crisis. My friends, do you want an America that is united under God or one that is broken by racial discord. A house divided cannot stand. You decide!
Let me tell you the plain truth, the simple truth! The Most High EVERLASTING FATHER will not lift up America ever again, until those who are blessed with the American Pie know or learned how to treat their unfortunate neighbors. This is not a threat. This is a fact. This is in line with sound Bible teachings. “Forgive and ye shall be forgiven.” “…those who have two coats, give one to those who have none.” “A stranger was I, and ye took me home…” “Love thy neighbor as thyself…” Who is your neighbor? The Illegals! THE SOJOURNERS! What Christianity Is America practicing today?
The Economic Woes of America will not go away until this Immigration Debate is resolved. This debate cannot be resolved until those who have, learned to give and forgive. The Most High have mercy on the SOJOURNERS, they are the illegals. If you are willing, this, is an oracle of the Most High.
The solution to the immigration debate can only be resolved when political and religious leaders get together and come to a humanitarian concensus to lift up the less unfortunate neighbors. Many are suffering and their cries have come up to the EVERLATING FATHER. Tis an urgent matter, as I see it.
I think you should inform yourself before you start pointing the finger at economic refugees for all of your troubles. By the way, undocumented immigrants are not illegal, no humans are illegal. Our foreign policies have caused a lot of the migration flow into the United States, so if you want to blame anyone blame the policies of the United States. Also note that undocumented migrants help to contribute to the economy and the social security of the nations older population and do not deserve the disrespect that you have shown in your response. furthermore did you know that because of a loophole that the IRS set up— undocumented migrants pay income tax but never receive the benefits: unemployment benefits and social security although they contribute to it, thus helping out our economy and our older populations and the unemployed. In conclusion, I urge you to educate yourself on issues that are serious before you show how ignorant you are and disrespect a group of people solely based on your misconceptions and complete lack of knowledge.

You are out of your mind!!! My husband was laid off for over 15 months and now has a temporary job due to ILLEGAL ALIENS!! His former employer had to lay him off because he is bidding for jobs against other businesses who hire ILLEGALS! He keeps losing the bids, even though he bids low, because other companies have so many illegals waiting for our jobs and will take less money. GREED!! My son’s business is failing because of ILLEGAL ALIENS!! They are swarming into our country unabated because our traitor president has promised amnesty. This will make our country even more insecure as thousands of gang members already here will become citizens, every illegal now here (45 million plus, 10,000 a day)become citizens and sponsor their aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, cousins….to add another 100 MILLION people. With MILLIONS OF AMERICAN CITIZENS out of work it’s unthinkable to even consider amnesty. Our borders have remained open since the empty promises of pre-1986 amnesty, and pre-1994 amnesty. Becoming an American citizen is the prize of the world. It should NOT be given to those who have broken our immigration laws. REWARDING LAWBREAKERS is NOT moral, ethical or logical. Janet Napolitano is promoting the propaganda necessary to try and convince people that we need more citizens. She is one of the traitors who want the North American Union. Her arguements don’t hold water. There’s not one ounce of logic in them. As I have written, more citizens will only bring this country to a third world status, generating more crime and an exponentially less secure nation.
