Have you done your taxes yet? I did mine on Sunday, thanks to the wonders of technology and the ability to E-file. But for those of you out there who are grumbling to yourselves while you stand in line at the Post Office, or swearing under your breath about how you said you’d never wait this long to get them done again, consider the fact that there are millions of people living in the United States who want to be in your position.

Without comprehensive immigration reform, the more than 12 million undocumented people working and living in the United States can’t fully contribute to their country. Undocumented workers get taxes taken out of their wages, just like every other worker in this country. But because they’re undocumented, they can’t fully participate in the American system of working together for public services we all use.

Right now, inaction on immigration reform is costing both our economy and our communities.

Take a stand: send a blank tax form to Congress to represent the money that immigration reform could bring into our ailing economy.

    President Obama, Senators, and Congresspersons:

Please pass immigration reform now. It is good for families, it is good for the economy, and it is good for better socioeconomic conditions for all Americans. You know the history –several centuries–of the many contributions immigrants have made to our country. This year, 2010, the contributions keep on coming but the reform must come too, so that all the contributions can be stronger and better. We can end so many problems when we have reform, too. We will all have drivers’ licenses, insurance, better English, more active & involved citizenry, and a lot more revenue going to the government, of course.

Thank you for standing up and getting this reform passed ASAP !

I agree with the lip-service issue stated by Martin. You hear Mrs Obama say “we need immigration reform but he can’t do it alone” – hmmm – get some balls that what I say. Most of these whingers in Politics have none including Republicans. All will stay within their “Nice positions”. And this claim that he is working “up his list” – come on. More like that is what they want you to think. What they are doing is playing politics with peoples lives – watching a video the other day in Arizona – I saw a small girl crying while her family were arrested. Now anyone with a heart can see that these fools really do not care unless it benefits them. When the recession is deep, immigration reform would have bought much needed revenue to us. Saying that the Mexicans are taking jobs (based on large percentage of undocumented) is really stupid. Look at what Walmart has done if you want that arguement – millions of jobs to China but you still buy there right! Which teabaggers don’t! What you need to do is do grass roots to find out which politicians have a credible history of having real ethics. If they do, their conscious will awaken them. I am glad that people keep the pressure on but don’t vote in a blind way. Look at your politician and who can compete for their place if they disagree with you. The bottom line is remember this is a land of immigrants and all financial benefits to what immigrants bring. If you want to pay $10 for a burgers go and join the tea party whine bags – I can’t believe that 14% of them are actually educated.

Sorry my English is not so good to do it , so…

We can only hope that, like last election, we’ll see record voter turn-outs. It’s unfortunate that Immigration Reform wasn’t at the top of Obama’s “To-Do” list, but he’s accomplished a lot and he’s working down his list. It’s our job to make certain he understands how important it is to us, so he will move it up his list. If we don’t turn out to vote, those “Right Wing Activists” will most certainly win. And you’re mistaken that they haven’t touched on Immigration Reform. You see, I’ve heard plenty from their party speaking about how Immigration is ruining this country, how illegals are stealing our rights as citizens, taking welfare and social security that should belong to us and which they say immigrants don’t deserve. They portray immigrants of any kind in a poor light– lazy, stealing jobs (which I say is irrational, but they do argue both), and their answer is stricter denial of immigration– not only legal but “illegal.” They want to build fences and hire prison guards. They want to deny more visas, more citizenship and kick out legitimate, hardworking family-minded people who never hurt anyone.

Please don’t let apathy steal our only chance to allow the silent voices to be heard! If you can vote, do. I do not tell you how to vote– vote for whichever candidate you believe in and whoever speaks with your heart and your mind. But giving up our only true chance as citizens to have our voices heard (by announcing who feel is the better president) is not the way to have our voices heard!!!

In my opinion the Obama & Congress are just plain lazy, with the amount of lip-service that comes out of Washington it’s quite amazing that anything gets done, they cannot see the forest for the trees, they have had chances time and time again to deal with immigration, but each time they spew another lame excuse, even the media notable those Right Wing Activists (FOX NEWS) have not touched on the plight of immigrants, i guess they forgot where they all came from, but more outstanding is the fact that Congress & Obama do not want more money coming into Govt’, so much for moving forward, at the rate they are going America will become a third world country, Needless to say that come this Nov the Dems will loose control of both the Senate & the House, Plus Obama will be a one term president, all in the name of inaction, furthermore if i were Latino i would encourage all NOT TO VOTE FOR ANY PARTY come this Nov, let them squirm, at least it will be fun to watch.
