Just because Congress takes a break in February doesn’t mean the fight for comprehensive immigration reform is slowing down! All over the country people like you are organizing, rallying, protesting, meeting with their elected officials and working in different ways to win this fight.

In New York our allies are road tripping around the state and building support for immigration reform. A rally outside the district office for Rep. John Hall (D-NY) echoed the road trippers’ calls for a pathway to citizenship, family unification and humane immigration laws.

In California we are holding town halls and staging local events that are getting some buzz thanks to our dedicated activists and organizers.

In Idaho our allies have been fighting against cruel state immigration laws by protesting the state capital and lawmakers.

Religious leaders in Texas have started a post card campaign demanding fair immigration reform, family unification and a path to citizenship from Congress.

In Oregon, Congressman Greg Walden (R) was the target of a march and postcard campaign asking him to cosponsor the CIR ASAP Act and to support the DREAM Act.

Coloradans are using the recess to hold vigils for immigration reform around the state, and to send a message to their senators to support comprehensive immigration reform.

Share in the comments your local events and how you and your community are using the February recess to reach opinion and lawmakers and getting their support for comprehensive immigration reform!
