November usually makes for a pretty exciting time in the United States – and I don’t just mean Thanksgiving and the yearly time change.

Last year, we had the historic election of President Obama, which symbolized America’s eagerness for Change and brought a clear message to Washington: For some of this nation’s biggest problems, doing nothing is no longer an option.

This year, November isn’t going to be any less significant. After Saturday’s historic House vote, in which representatives passed the most sweeping reform legislation of America’s health care system in decades, change is once again electrifying the air.  Washington has shown it is finally ready to take action on the big issues, and people across the country working to ensure that comprehensive reform of the nation’s immigration system is a top priority.

Next week, on November 18th, thousands will be gathering in homes, churches and ESL classes across America to build momentum for immigration reform.  Representative Luis Gutierrez, a major leader in the fight for reform, will be hosting a virtual town hall during which he will lay out his vision for how we will win the fight.

And we’re asking you to be a part of it. The Families, Freedom and Faith event was designed as a way for YOU to get involved. It’s an opportunity for individuals across the country to come together, discuss the issues, and raise your voices for immigration reform that unites families, upholds the rights of workers everywhere, and repairs our economy.  That’s how President Obama was elected; that is how we will make sure that Congress continues to tackle the tough problems; that is how we will make sure this is a November to remember.

Here are three simple ways to be involved:

  1. Host a house party
  2. Attend a house party
  3. Join the Town Hall call

Next week is going to be an exciting moment in the fight for immigration reform and we hope you will be there with us. In the mean time, we’d love to hear your stories about why this legislation is so important to you. What would immigration reform mean to you personally? Why are you dedicated to this fight?

Help us make it a November to remember!
