I am committing myself to help to spread the awareness of this injustice to everyone that i teach and interact with.I have met wonderful supporters of this issue who are dedicating their time, effort and energy to this. As an immigrant myself I am willing to stand in solidarity with my brothers and sisters who are dying to live and longing to love.
Gitana- please hang in there. All will be well! I pray that all will be converted by the struggles and sufferings of others.

I am energized with hope by the diverse constellation of support sitting in my living room last night. We had 12 people representing every aspect of our family's life and each family member here for the Call to Action with Congressman Gutierrez (and thousands of others, nationally):
a Doctor author on brain research, a member of our church and instructor of the Our Whole Lives curriculum, an AILA member and candidate for our State House of Representatives, the parent of my former student, my daughter's former daycare teacher, my 6 year old's best friend, an immigrant father directly effected by the current laws, the most active Teacher's Union member of 2008,a Latina Teacher/Activist from the successful adiosdobbs campaign.
We were asked to give our personal stories as US Citizens adversely effected by the current laws and one person said she came because we are 'heroes.'
We are so grateful to all the people who are working to make this a reality.
Our family will be broken apart if there isn't immigration waiver reform in 2010.

Hi!!!

I am 26 years old girl from Europe. I am tired to be illegal. I don't want to go home, here it's my home. I didn't see my mom for 6 years. I want to do stuff and help country to grow. Now, my hands are tied. I want to do so many things and I can not, but time is running. I want to be free. Why can't we be free as the rest of the world. We came here, we are here, we live here and we want to have rights. Why somebody who came before us has more rights then us. Why should we suffer. They, who don't know anything about being illegal, decide for us, decide our future. It's not a game, we are all equal. Why is it so hard to understand, life is so short and it's already hard to live and now, they making life even worse. I was even thinking to jump from the big building in New York, and maybe my death would change something. Somebody has to sacrifice. Sometimes need a big move to open theirs eyes. Maybe it's the only option. .......... :-(
