Thousands of people came out across the country to support comprehensive immigration reform around the country today. Here in Washington, several thousand people lobbied their elected officials for serious immigration reform, then held a vigil outside the Capitol in support of family unification. Among those in attendance at the vigil were:

  • Rep. Clarke (NY)
  • Rep. Quigley (IL)
  • Rep. Polis (CO)
  • Rep. Grijalva (AZ)
  • Rep. Gutierrez (IL)
  • Rep. Velazquez (NY)
  • Rep. Schakowsky (IL)
  • Sen. Menendez (NJ)
  • Rep. Honda (CA)
  • Rep. Becerra (CA)
  • Rep. Woolsey (CA)
  • Del. Sablan (Northern Mariana Islands) also came to show support
  • .

Immigration reform supporters weren’t just in Washington though – more than thirty rallies in Wisconsin, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Michigan drew crowds demanding immigration reform as well.

You can see for yourself how successful our call to action was!

With all this momentum, now is a great time to join us in the fight for comprehensive immigration reform. You can still fax or call your Representative and tell them it is time for comprehensive immigration reform.

Congratulations for the exit in D.C. We must continue to press the Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Bur this law has to be on our terms. Our immigration system is impeding our nation’s ability to attract other nations around the world. The United States has been adopting an anti-visitor policy becoming the vulnerable point in the eyes of the world.

American Families must Unite for Reform in 2010. I am a US Citizen school teacher with 3 citizen children with a relative petition that was approved in 2003. Yet, if these laws aren’t fixed withing 12 months we will all lose an important role model and support to Deportation!
Tell Congress to Reinstate 245i and End the bars in 212a9c for family security and the success of our schools and economy!

Inmigration Refom now, for hard work and good faith people

Janet Napolitano is increasing deportations as
fast as humanly possible. While Obama promised
us immigration reform, what we got was an expanded
Bush program of arrests, detention in commercial
detention centers, and deportations. The damage
this has caused to families is incalculable.
When 300,000 to 400,000 thousand immigrants are deported
each year, how can any of this trauma be assuaged?
    It can’t be.

Immigration Reform is a necessity not a hand out. Working in this field I have seen great people who have been residing for years in the shadows, respecting our laws, paying their taxes, working hard for their families, never taking a government hand out and unfortunately for them their USC children and/or spouses who they work so hard for, are healthy individuals. These great people are put in removal proceedings and are required to prove an “Extreme Hardship”. The “Extreme Hardship” burden of proof is so “extremely” unfair to prove that they are ordered removed. This is tearing these great families apart, leaving their USC children and/or spouses devastated of a system and country who has failed them! Reform NOW!

Thank you all of you people, who are insisting on our Immigration Reform, because they, in the Congress, they need to know that we are waiting for the resolution of this matter, they need to know that we need of them, as they need of us. If they just act in the right way, giving Permission to work to all of the Immigrants, the Economy will be fixed.
