Posted: April 26, 2012 at 2:43 pm By MichaelOn the biggest day of our national week of action for immigrant families, the US Supreme Court heard the oral arguments against Arizona’s infamous anti-immigration law, SB 1070. While the constitutionality of the bill was being discussed inside the Court’s white marble walls, faith leaders, labor unions, DREAMers, politicians, activists for immigrant and civil rights, undocumented and documented immigrants, and many others—nearly 1000 in all—stood in solidarity before the steps of the Supreme Court against SB 1070 and other hateful anti-immigration laws.

Posted: March 4, 2010 at 6:33 pm By adminBy Jim Willis, originally posted at God’s Politics. The window is closing on comprehensive immigration reform. At least that’s what the politicians in Washington are saying. They’re afraid of more demagoguery. They’re afraid of upcoming elections. They’re afraid of the politics of fear. But I am more and more troubled by how little they seem [...]
Latest CIS Poll on Faith and Immigration Raises Eyebrows
Posted: January 5, 2010 at 2:22 pm By Jackie MahendraOriginally posted at the America’s Voice blog. Something is clearly amiss when it comes to the latest Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) polling on immigration. Not that it’s a huge surprise, coming from the same “think tank” whose leader recently argued that Judge Sotomayor should change her name to sound more “Anglo…” In December, the [...]

Posted: December 2, 2009 at 4:33 pm By Katherine VargasOn November 13, when Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano addressed advocates and the media at the Center for American Progress, she pointed to the “fundamental changes” from 2007 that have shifted the debate on comprehensive immigration reform making it more attainable this time around.
