Voces de la Frontera kicked off their five-city tour in Milwaukee this morning and plan to be in Chicago by the afternoon.
The Milwaukee press conference highlighted forging solidarity between immigrant and non-immigrant workers to strengthen workers rights within job creation and comprehensive immigration reform.
One speaker noted, “We cannot allow Wall Street to cynically avoid responsibility for the harm they have created by blaming immigrant or unemployed workers for lack of jobs or low wages. To turn back this tide requires a mass movement for full employment and strengthened labor rights, a pillar of which is the fight to pass human immigration reform this year.”
Tomorrow, they will begin with a morning forum in Toledo and then head out to Cincinnati. We’re anxious to see them chant on the streets at their final destination at March For America in DC!
