Busing all the way from California to DC is no easy trip.

But yesterday, a fired-up group of San Francisco Bay Area activists embarked on a cross-country journey to Washington, DC.

The bus headed out with leaders from the PICO Pilgrimage for Immigration Reform, Berkeley Organizing Congregations for Action, San Francisco Organizing Project, and Oakland Community Organizations.

The pilgrimage will make their way across the country, holding prayer rallies, vigils and press conferences in 9 cities and arriving in Washington, DC just in time to join the March for America in Washington DC.

Yesterday, the group held a press conference to kick-off their trip and announced the San Francisco solidarity action event targeting Senator Diane Feinstein.

In addition to joining the march, the group will be meeting in DC with Senator Barbara Boxer next Tuesday to discuss the need for immigration reform.

Stay tuned for more updates as buses from around the country begin their journeys to the March For America!

Go all the way. We are proud of you. We have waited far too long for Immigration Reform. The time has come for action. We voted for change, now the President and Democrats must do what we elected them for.
If they do not, they will suffer a heavy defeat in November.

It is good to know that we can disagree and still be friends. I gave up drinking. I’ll bring iced tea and you can bring the kool-aid.
Let’s both pray for a peaceful, respectful demonstration.
