Arizona protestors stand in front of the White House

Today, a Federal judge will hear two lawsuits challenged Arizona’s ‘papers please’ law, SB 1070. The first will be from numerous individuals and civil rights groups and the second will be the much-discussed Department of Justice Suit that the Obama administration filed last month.

All eyes will be on the courtroom today as U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton hears both cases.

It is unclear how Bolton will rule on the cases. She heard another legal challenge to the law last week, which was brought by an Arizona police officer.

She did not make a ruling in that case. (via CNN)

We’ll be paying close attention to the case and hoping for a ruling before the law goes into effect next week on July 29th .

I stand with Arizona. If you can’t come here LEGALLY, don’t bother coming here. We have enough criminals of our own to deal with.

the United States should have done something a long time ago about the illegal immigrant’s coming into the United States. I back Arizona 100%. Go Arizona!

It is so sad to see people looking at the immigration problem of america like a simple problem solver. For example “if you can’t come here LEGALLY, don’t bother coming here.” I do not think some of these people understand how complex this issue really is. They do not understand that this country’s founding father where also immigrant. I wonder if citizens of the United States understand that illegal immigrants are the back bone of this country. It is so easy to judge illegals, yet american consume our services “Gardening, Child Care, Handyman, Construction Workers, Fruit Pickers and hundreds of more services that we provide to this great country all for a low price. I do not understand how some american can compare a Murderer, Rapist, Thieve to someone who came here to work and to feed his family. Perhaps we are all missing the point of what the issue really is.
