I’m still reeling from Governor Brewer signing hate into Arizona law this afternoon. As I held a moment of silence with millions of others across the country, a friend in the movement had this to say:

Immigrant Rights are under Attack. What do we do? STAND UP FIGHT BACK!

There are still thousands gathered in Phoenix and millions with their eyes on Arizona, it’s time to keep the fight going.

Tomorrow night people will gather again at the Capitol to protest the passage of SB 1070. If you’re in Arizona:

5:00 pm
Capitol, 1700 W. Washington Phoenix, Arizona

Be there and ready to keep up the fight.

If you aren’t in Arizona, hold a solidarity vigil, rally, party, wake (for dignity) or whatever else feels appropriate. And no matter what, be ready to hit the streets.

On May 1st, it’s on.

Why can’t immigrants follow the rules and come to America the right way instead of breaking our laws? There is nothing stopping someone coming here legally! America is a nation of immigrants, but is also a nation of laws. So, what does it say about the person if they break the law to get what they want? I believe most immigrants want to come here to make a better life for their families and themselves. WE WELCOME THOSE PEOPLE! They should be given that opportunity if they are hard working, but we have these rules/laws for a reason. In today’s world, we cannot let people pour over our borders and not know who is coming over here.People have had their heads cut-off by MS-13 gang members in Nashville, TN! I doubt these guys were hard working legal immigrants! Amnesty was given in the 80′s by Republicans and Democrats want to do it now, so do we just keep this doing this every 20-30 years? Most of us, on the right, all we want is for people to respect the laws, come here the right way and abide by the laws. So, answer the question, why can’t immigrants come here legally? If there is nothing to hide, then why hide? Stop calling us racist, stop comparing the AZ law to the Japanese camps of WW2. Pearl Harbor had just happened and Americans didn’t know what the hell was going on! Japanese tourist had been spying for the Pearl Harbor attack.
It shouldn’t have happened, but fear breeds mistakes. I’ll say it again, so no one can say that I do not like Hispanics. Immigrants, Mexicans, Canadians, Brazilians who the hell ever, COME HERE, BUT COME THE RIGHT WAY!!!

Wil, Mexico is a corrupt place because of the demand for drugs in the United States,drug cartels see this as a very profitable market. As long as Americans keep demanding drugs,the supply will continue to pour in,maybe we should launch a full blown internal investigation on our law enforcement agencies.Withholding information so that each law enforcement agency comes out as a hero only leads to things like 9/11, you remember that dont you? When the CIA, FBI, and NSA each had bits and pieces of information that had the agencies worked together 9/11 could have been avoided..in the 1960s troops in vietnam were abusing drugs,many came home and looked for substances to keep them at bay,that lead to the expansion of the drug market,drugs have been in demand way before immigration became a problem,you want to talk corruption of government, look into the water gate scandal,why is there so much secrecy in the JFK assassination,why is the American government always keeping people in the dark,who are they trying to protect?America is not the picture perfect place most of you perjudice people make it out to be.America has big flaws,potentially hazardous flaws,and you want to blame immigrants for job losses,crime rate,I’m simply pointing out that we should hold our tongues before lashing out with verbal attacks.I love this nation because while there are those big flaws, it is a nation where anyone willing to better themselves and anyone with big hopes and dreams can come and work hard to do so. Not all Mexicans or illegal immigrants are drug cartels and criminals. The governor of Arizona made a very big mistake signing this bill. It has set a precedent to the whole country that in 2010 we are still a racist nation. Look at the crimes committed by Caucasian people since they stole this country from the Native people. Look at the crimes committed today by the so-called American citizens. The majority of registered sexual pedophiles are Caucasian and walk the streets and reoffend and innocent children are their victims. Our children in America cannot go in the back yard to play because google it in every state in this coutry and there will be several registered sexual offenders witin 1/2 mile of your home. Mexicans contribute to this society and it would serve the American people good if they all go to Mexico and try to do the jobs they have refused to do because Americans are lazy people. They prefer unemplyment before they will go in the fields and work. There are many job openings in the fields but I do not see Americans heading to the fields. I have Native blood and this is my land that has been stolen and I feel ashamed of any Caucasian blood that runs through my veins and sympathize with Mexicans or anyone now that looks Hispanic (Myself) if they are in Arizona.

Lynn, the constitution was created by patriots, patriots who envisioned a country where anyone with a dream could come here and live out the dream, yes there are those people who come here to do harm, but let’s face the facts,when was the last time there was a hispanic serial killer?a hispanic terrorist,a hispanic cult leader? may I remind you of the Oklahoma city bomber,Ted Bundy, The Green River killer, Columbine High School, The Virginia Tech Shooting, and more recently the guy who crashed his plane into the side of the IRS building. Lynn, if America had respect for the laws why is it that, many of the laws have loopholes?If I’m inside my home a burglar breaks in and tries to rob and kill me, but I stab him with a kitchen knife, he has the right to turn around and sue me for bodily harm.. The fact is most illegal immigrants are not demanding anything, They are just trying to make a better life for their family’s. You can’t just make blanket statements with out any proof or justification. This country was started buy immigrants and it will always be a country of immigrants that is what makes it great. Kudos to the governor of Arizona doing her part to keep the United States from becoming the fastest growing third world country. Referring to people as immigrants is dishonest and misleading at best. There are two types of immigrants in the United States: Legal and Illegal. The illegals need to go now; self deport or be deported. We are a nation of laws and it is about time somebody enforces them.

I firmly believe people should be presumed innocent of any crime(in this case illegally being the the country). Instead as I read it you are assumed guilty of the crime unless you can prove yourself innocent.

The historic injustice of the Arizona Immigration law that gives Arizona police gestapo-like power is incredibly dangerous. The potential for the ‘slippery slope’ effect is very real and will lead to a further eroding away of our long cherished civil rights! Since the Arizona Governor has signed this draconian measure into law I am launching a campaign to encourage all people, all ethnic groups, citizens and non-citizens alike to stand together in solidarity with our fellow ‘Latino’ brothers and sisters who have been injustly declared ‘illegal” by publically wearing this ‘modified’ replica of the WWII era Nazi issued Star of David. This infamous icon symbolizes those who were declared ‘illegal persons’ by the Nazi’s just like lawmakers of Arizona have now declared undocumented immigrants as illegal persons. This historic icon is also ironic in that it serves to reminds us that our current labrinth of complicated, cumbersome and unjust immigration laws were devised during the dark era of the great Shoa in order to specifically keep out Jewish refugees from these United States. This icon will also remind us that we desperately need immigration reform legislation. I am in the process of producing actual cloth versions of this icon, as well as window stickers for those brave souls who carry comprehensive ins. & do not fear another Kristallnacht.
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum promotes the notion that “we must never forget”, Tragically the state of Arizona has done just that and ironically, a large percentage of Latino sur names have Sephardic (Spanish Jewry) origins, and are descendants of converso Jews. Where is the Jewish community? Where are the Rabbi’s? Where is the powerful Jewish lobby and political action groups? Where are the Right-wing Evangelical Christians who are so quick to ‘bless Israel’ yet are complicit in this clearly racist and Nazi-like law through their ‘blind’ support for the Republican Party? Could it be that the oft quoted scripture; “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you” when referring to the seed of Abraham is now only used when seeking a ‘financial’ blessing as opposed to an ‘eternal’ one?

SB 1070 represents one of the worst possible ways to deal with the economic and humanitarian crisis caused by our nation’s broken immigration system. It encourages civil rights abuses and racial profiling, promotes suspicion and fear, and utterly fails to show compassion and respect for the worth and dignity of immigrant families. My heart is just broken and I feel for all in Arizona.

Arizona is trying to prevent the state from becoming like Mexico. It is the leading kidnapping state in this nation. The drug cartels are doing the same horrible things in Arizona that they do in Mexico.
How dare Arizona make an effort to protect her citizens? Why should Arizona have the right to enforce Federal Immigration law, even when the federal government fails to protect Arizona citizens.
The illegal immigrants from Mexico DEMAND that Arizona surrender the state to criminal drug lords and illegal immigrants immediately! Hispanics want to control the U.S. so they can make it a great nation, just like Mexico.
